BROOKVILLE, N.Y. . — The Sharks had plenty to celebrate this Labor Day after picking up their first win of the season, a 2-0 victory over Quinnipiac.
LIU jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 18:06 mark thanks to a goal from
Izzy Stein, assisted by
Grace Hennig.
Betty Hall later added to the Sharks' lead with a second half goal (assisted by
Monica Viveros and
Ela Kisin) to make it 2-0. This marked Viveros' second assist of the season.
Such a lead proved to be all LIU needed to hold on to the win.
Keely Thomas put forth a strong effort in goal, coming up with six saves in the shutout.
The Sharks return to the field on Sunday, Sept. 7, hosting Temple at 12 p.m.
