The Sharks cruised to a 11-3 win over Mercyhurst on Saturday afternoon at LIU Baseball Stadium, completing a three-game sweep and picking up their third straight NEC series victory.
Pirillo, now with 202 wins at the helm, has guided LIU to a 9-3 start in conference play.
Justin DeCastro picked up his fourth win of the season, tossing seven strong innings.
Ryan Rivera stayed red-hot at the plate, going 5-for-5 with two RBIs. He got LIU on the board early with an RBI single to left in the first inning.
Tyler Benick followed with a two-run single to cap a three-run first, and finished the day with four RBIs.
Jack Ryan launched a solo homer in the sixth to stretch the lead to 6-2.
Jacob Pipercic blew it open later in the frame with a bases-clearing double, making it 10-2.
Rivera doubled again in the eighth to lock in his fifth hit of the game as the Sharks pounded out 11 hits total.
LIU returns home Friday to open a three-game set against FDU. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
