EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – Ashley Morrow and Jeannie Wallner were the heroes on Senior Day as the LIU women's hockey team defeated Franklin Pierce 2-1, sweeping its two-game series against the Ravens.

Morrow scored LIU's first goal 6:31 into the third period, tying the game at 1.

Wallner secured the game-winning goal on Senior Day with just 23 seconds left in regulation, lifting LIU to its NEWHA-leading 17th win of the season.

Abbie Thompson made 17 saves in the victory.

Maggie Culp, Bri Eid, Anna Fairman, Ashley Morrow, Sarah Rourke, Abbie Thompson, Carrigan Umpherville, and Jeannie Wallner were honored during a pre-game ceremony as part of the Sharks' Senior Day festivities.

LIU returns to the Northwell Health Ice Center for its home finale against Post on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m.
