MANCHESTER, N.H. — The LIU women's hockey team secured its third consecutive NEWHA regular season title with a 2-1 win over Saint Anselm on Saturday night.

LIU's leading scorers, Jeannie Wallner and Grace Babington, each found the back of the net in the Sharks' conference-leading 19th win of the season.

Wallner scored her team-leading 13th goal and 24th point of the season in the first period, breaking through with under five minutes remaining in the opening frame.

Babington would then give LIU a 2-0 lead in the opening minutes of the second period.

Abbie Thompson secured her NEWHA-leading 17th win of the season after a 26 save performance. 

LIU and Saint Anselm will face off again Saturday at 1 p.m.
