SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Gina Proviano's multi-goal performance lifted LIU to a 2-1 win against Le Moyne as the Sharks improved to 2-0-1 in NEC play.
 
Proviano's first-half strike put LIU ahead 1-0 in the opening 11 minutes of play.
 
The senior captain found the back of the net once more in the second half after Stephanie Schubert set her up for her fifth goal of the season, with 12 minutes left in regulation.
 
Goalkeeper Keely Thomas stopped five shots on the evening.
 
Morgan Sherrill also recorded an assist in the game.
 
LIU returns home to play Chicago State on Sunday at noon.
