ALBANY, N.Y. — Jesper Mikkelsen's second-half heroics and Eoin Gawronski's shutout performance lifted LIU to a 1-0 win against UAlbany on Sunday afternoon, as the Sharks improved to 2-0 on the season.

LIU, which knocked off Stony Brook 2-1 in its home opener on Thursday, returned to the pitch against the Great Danes and secured its first road win of the season.

Mikkelsen, a graduate transfer, scored his first goal as a Shark, with under 18 minutes remaining in the game.

Eoin Gawronski earned his second win of the season after stopping five shots for LIU.

The Sharks return to the pitch next Sunday at UConn.
