BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The 2024 record-breaking regular season will be one to remember for the LIU baseball team.
The Sharks won a program-record 24 NEC games and finished the season with a .727 NEC winning percentage – the highest totals for the program during the Shark era.
LIU's 4-2 win against Miami in February was the start of something special for the Sharks, who wrapped up their fourth regular season as a Division I program in the NEC.
Head coach
Dan Pirillo, who completes his eighth season at LIU in June, led the Sharks to eight NEC series wins and a program-best 20 wins at home.
LIU finished the regular season 29-22 and next plays on Thursday in the NEC tournament and eyes its second NCAA tournament berth in the past three seasons.
