Chandler Ketchup then scored on a wild pitch, tying the game at four.
Benjamin Fierenzi's ground out to second base plated
Jarod Wade, giving LIU a 5-4 lead.
Noah Sorensen blasted a two-run single to center field to tack on a pair of insurance runs for LIU.
Jack Power launched the only home run of the game with a fourth-inning solo shot, giving LIU a 2-1 lead.
Dominic Pieto struck out six batters in 6.2 innings pitched.
LIU will look to sweep the three-game series Sunday at 1 p.m.
