STORRS, Conn. — Seth Surrett went 4-for-5 with two home runs and three RBIs against UConn on Wednesday afternoon.
Matthew McGurk and Surrett both doubled in the second inning, while
Jake Mastillo singled to center field as LIU jumped out to a 5-0 lead.
UConn scored six runs in the second inning, taking a 6-5 lead.
Seth Surrett homered to right field in the fourth inning, cutting the Sharks' lead to 7-6.
UConn added four more runs in the bottom of the fifth, taking an 11-6 lead.
Seth Surrett went yard again in the sixth, making it a four-run game.
Matthew McGurk's triple in the eighth scored Jake Power, cutting the Huskies' lead to three.
UConn plated three runs in the ninth and won the ball game 14-8.
Christian Yoo struck out a pair of batters in two innings of relief, while former UConn Huskie
Noah Sorensen finished the game with a hit and run scored for the Sharks.
LIU returns home to host Norfolk State. The three-game series starts Friday at 3 p.m. at the LIU baseball stadium.
