QUEENS, N.Y. — The LIU baseball team dropped its first game of a five-game road trip to St. John's, after falling short 13-2 on Tuesday afternoon.
Noah Sorensen scored the first run of the game, before the Red Storm followed up with three of their own.
Mastillo blasted a fourth-inning home run to right field, cutting the Sharks' lead to 4-2.
Tatsuya Uemoto struck out a pair of batters after relieving
Justin DeCastro, and Sorensen finished the game with two hits.
LIU will start a three-game series against CCSU on Friday at 3 p.m.
