SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The LIU women's basketball team took the long bus ride up to Le Moyne as it continued NEC play on Thursday.
The game was tightly contested as neither team would give in early on. Baskets from
Ashley Austin and
Mariah Elohim would give the Sharks a one-point lead entering halftime.
The third quarter was more of the same as buckets by Austin, Elohim, and
Nigeria Harkless would keep LIU in it. Unfortunately for the Sharks, the baskets would not fall in the fourth as Le Moyne ran away with the game and won 58-45.
Elohim scored a team-high 20 points while tallying two rebounds and an assist.
Ashley Austin scored 11 with two rebounds and two assists.
Amaya Dowdy and
Janessa Williams dominated the glass, each grabbing a team-high 13 rebounds.
LIU returns to the court on Saturday at 2 p.m. when it hosts Wagner
