EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — The LIU women's hockey team will be seeing plenty of Saint Michael's the next couple of weeks.
So far, so good.
Jeannie Wallner recorded her first career hat trick and
Tindra Holm produced a 14-save shutout in her return from a post-clinching respite as the Sharks blanked the Purple Knights, 7-0, on Friday afternoon at Northwell Health Ice Center.
The teams meet again in the regular-season finale on Saturday at 2 p.m.
LIU, the regular-season champion, then hosts a best-of-three opening-round NEWHA series against No. 8 seed Saint Michael's next weekend.
On Friday, Wallner had three goals and
Grace Babington and
Ashley Morrow had two apiece. LIU's outburst marked the largest scoring output this season.
Morrow was playing in her 100th collegiate game.
