SHELTON, Conn. — Annie Abramson became the third goaltender to start for the LIU women's hockey team this season. And the beat went on for the Sharks, who earned their 10th straight victory.
Abramson, a sophomore from Boise, Idaho, made 21 saves in her season debut on Saturday and LIU completed a home-and-home sweep of Post with a 3-1 victory in Connecticut.
LIU erased a one-goal deficit with second-period scores from
Jeannie Wallner and
Grace Babington.
Maggie Culp added a third-period power-play goal.
The Sharks, the NEWHA regular-season champs for the second straight year, conclude the regular season by hosting Saint Michael's next Friday at 3 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. at Northwell Health Ice Center. A Senior Day ceremony will precede the latter game.
The playoffs then open with a best-of-three series, again against Saint Michael's, on Feb. 23 at 7:30 p.m. on Long Island.
