BROOKLYN, N.Y. — LIU lost a tough one to Lehigh on Saturday afternoon, falling 60-59.
The Sharks took control early, taking a seven-point lead into the break thanks to 11 first half points from
Shadrak Lasu and another 10 points from
Jamal Fuller, respectively. The team came out confident into the second half, extending its lead to thirteen, 44-31, with 15:32 left remaining.
Lehigh then went on a 16-2 run of its own, leading 47-46 with 9:32 left to play. The two teams jostled back and forth the rest of the way, with LIU unable to get a potentially game-winning shot to fall as time expired.
Fuller finished with a team-high 20 points for the Sharks, with Lasu finishing with a season-high 16 to go with a team-leading 10 rebounds. This was Lasu's second double-double of the year and the fourth time he's grabbed double-digit rebounds.
LIU will return to play Friday, Jan. 3, hosting Le Moyne at 7 p.m.
