BURLINGTON, VT. — Austin Brimmer scored twice, while
Carter Rapalje and
J.R Perdion each found the back of the net as LIU wrapped up its two-game series against Vermont on Saturday evening.
Rapalje's shorthanded goal gave LIU an early 1-0 lead over the Catamounts just 5:22 into the opening period.
Brimmer scored on the power play with 34 seconds left in the first period to cut LIU's deficit to 3-2.
Brimmer opened the scoring in the second period, tying the game at 3 just two minutes into the middle frame.
Perdion found the back of the net for the game's final goal with 1:18 left in regulation as the Sharks fell to the Catamounts 7-4.
Perdion finished the game with a goal and an assist, while
Isaac Lambert recorded a pair of assists.
Onni Leppänen extended his point streak to seven consecutive games with his third-period assist on Perdion's goal.
LIU returns to the Northwell Health Ice Center for a pair of games against Stonehill on Friday and Saturday.
Fans can join the Sharks for their annual Teddy Bear Toss Game on Friday, Dec. 13, at 7:30 p.m.
