EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — The Sharks defeated Saint Michael's on Friday, with the 5-0 victory not only representing an impressive shutout, but also giving the squad its largest win margin of the season.
LIU was led by Maggie Culp, who scored two goals late to help put the finishing touches on the win. Lisa Schröfl got things going early for the Sharks, scoring the game's first goal just 2:55 minutes into play. Grace Babington, the team's leader in assists this season, followed suit by scoring her first goal of the season in the opening period as well.
Paige Vreeman went on to score her second goal of the season in the second period, giving the Sharks a 3-0 lead before Culp scored her pair and LIU took strong hold of the game and never looked back, improving to 3-0-1 at home.
LIU and Saint Michael's will face off again on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m.
