WATERBURY, Conn. — The LIU women's hockey team tied Post 2-2 on Saturday evening and secured a 1-0 win in a five-round shootout, thanks to Bri Eid's goal in the third round.
Ryane Kearns put LIU on the board with the Sharks' first goal at the five-minute mark of the second period.
Post regained the lead at 2-1, but Ella Knewton evened the game at 2 midway through the third period.
After a scoreless overtime, LIU prevailed in the shootout.
Clara Kammholz recorded 24 saves on the night.
LIU improves to 8-5-2 on the season.
