NEW BRITAIN, Conn.— The LIU women's basketball team traveled to Central Connecticut State on Sunday as it continues its NEC Schedule.
Just like in their last matchup, once the Sharks took the lead, they never lost it. LIU led for 96.6% of the game in its 57-50 victory. It's the third conference win for the squad as they now sit in a tie for third place.
Mariah Elohim led the team with 14 points, marking her seventh game in a row with at least 10 points.
Amaya Dowdy was second on the team in scoring with 13, while also grabbing seven rebounds.
Samantha Bailey and
Janessa Williams were tied for the team-high in rebounds with 10 each. It was a season-high for both.
The Sharks return to the court on Thursday at 2 p.m. when they travel to Sacred Heart.
