WORCESTER, Mass. — Anya Weilandt scored the game-deciding goal for a second straight night and the LIU women's hockey team completed a two-game sweep of host Assumption on Saturday.
LIU won both games by identical 2-1 scores.
On Saturday,
Ashley Morrow scored a first-period goal on the power play and Weilandt produced a second-period score for a two-goal cushion.
On Friday, Weilandt also had staked LIU to a 2-0 lead, after
Sarah Rourke had opened the scoring.
Tindra Holm made 30 saves on Saturday to earn the victory.
The Sharks improved to 17-2 in NEWHA play. They return to action next weekend with games on Friday and Saturday against Saint Anselm in Manchester, N.H.
