Women's Hockey Tops Assumption Behind Rourke, Weilandt Goals

WORCESTER, Mass. — The LIU women's hockey team continues to steam into the postseason.

The Sharks topped Assumption, 2-1, on Friday night behind goals from Sarah Rourke and Anya Weilandt.

Assumption received a goal from Jenna Chaplain to pull within a goal with 3 minutes, 24 seconds remaining in regulation, but LIU nonetheless prevailed.

Tindra Holm made 26 saves in the victory.

The teams meet again on Saturday at 7:20 p.m. in Worcester.
