STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The LIU women's soccer team was knocked from the ranks of the unbeaten in conference play.
Host Wagner handed the Sharks a 2-0 loss on Sunday afternoon at Hameline Field.
LIU, which had won its NEC opener against Stonehill on Thursday, dropped to 4-3-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
Wagner outshot the Sharks 19-8, including 9-1 in shots on goal.
Wagner's goals came from Jess Maraia in the 52nd and 57th minutes.
The Sharks had been unbeaten in their past three matches.
LIU looks to regroup Thursday when it faces Central Connecticut State at 6 p.m. in New Britain, Conn.
