NORTHPORT, N.Y. — The LIU Athletics community came out in force on Monday to support the department's student-athletes.
In all, 104 golfers participated in the annual LIU Athletics Golf Outing, which was held at Indian Hills Country Club in Northport.
The closest-to-the-pin winners at No. 6 were Nicholas Faber for the men (13 feet, 6 inches) and Nora Maclaine for the women (27 feet).
The longest drives on No. 10 belonged to Ant Bernando and Meghan McNamara.
And the scramble champions, with a score of 61, were Anthony Spadaro, Zach Kupfer, Dom Manzella and Andy Silversmith.
"It's an awesome day out here," said LIU men's hockey coach Brett Riley, who participated in the event. "It's a really good turnout for all teams, across the board. We're thrilled to be supporting our athletics program."
Among the other head coaches who golfed: Jordan Levine (men's lacrosse), McNamara (women's lacrosse), Michael Mordocco (men's soccer) and Dan Pirillo (baseball).
