BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU men's tennis team honored a pair of graduate students before the final regular-season match of 2022-23 on Sunday.

Head coach Jan Griga and associate head coach Pavlos Stephanides paid tribute to Gui Medeiros and Sergio Fernandez Romera as teammates from the men's and women's squads watched the ceremony.

The Sharks then fell to St. Francis Brooklyn, 5-2, on Sunday afternoon.

Philip Hilble at first singles and Ales D'Anna at fourth singles earned points for the Sharks.

With the match already decided, Medeiros fell, 10-8, in a tiebreaker at fifth singles after splitting the first two sets with Leon Harder.

The Sharks now head into next weekend's NEC Tournament at the Mercer County Tennis Center in Princeton Junction, N.J.
