BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU baseball team will look to win its fourth straight NEC series when it hosts Merrimack in Sunday's 1 p.m. rubber game.
The Sharks fell to the Warriors, 13-8, on Saturday at the LIU Baseball Stadium.
Jake Mastillo bashed his team-leading 12th homer in the first inning, but Merrimack answered with a four-run second inning and led the rest of the way.
The Sharks did make things interesting when
Christopher Hund belted a grand slam in a five-run eighth to pull the Sharks within 10-8.
It marked the second straight day with a grand slam for LIU.
Mastillo had a walk-off slam in the 11th inning of the series opener on Friday.
