Power Surge! Jack Power Homers, Triples to Lead Baseball over Manhattan

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU baseball team is beginning to build some momentum.

Jack Power produced a game-tying two-run homer in the fifth, then tripled home Carlton Harper with the tiebreaking run an inning later in an eventual 6-4 nonconference win against Manhattan on Wednesday at the LIU Baseball Stadium.

JC Navarro and Power each went 2-for-3. They combined to drive in five runs.

Tatsuya Uemoto, Jack VanDoran, Shane Tucker and Ty McInnes combined for 5 2/3 scoreless relief innings.

Tucker earned his first win of the season, while McInnes handled the final three outs to record his second save.

The Sharks have won three of their past four games.

LIU returns to NEC action this weekend when it hosts Sacred Heart.
