EASTON, Mass. — Alec Huertas combined with
Shane Tucker on a shutout in Game 1 and the LIU baseball team's bats erupted in a doubleheader sweep of host Stonehill on Friday afternoon.
The Sharks defeated Stonehill, 8-0 and 11-4, at Lou Gorman Field.
In Game 1, Huertas produced the longest outing by a Sharks pitcher this season, blanking the Skyhawks over eight innings while surrendering only two hits and two walks in a 103-pitch effort.

Tucker tossed a scoreless ninth with two strikeouts to close out the victory in Friday's opener.
Jack Power staked LIU to a lead with a two-run homer in the third and went 4-for-5 with three runs scored in Game 1. It marked Power's first career four-hit game.
Jake Mastillo added a pair of solo homers — already his third two-homer game of the season.
In Game 2,
Brian O'Boyle had three hits and three RBIs.
Starter
Dominic Pieto took a scoreless effort into the sixth inning and the Sharks built a 9-0 lead.
