EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — As the LIU men's hockey team nears the conclusion of its home schedule, the Sharks pounded Alaska Anchorage on Sunday night.
LIU defeated the Seawolves, 6-2, at Northwell Health Ice Center as
Cade Mason,
Jordan Di Cicco,
Isaiah Fox,
Josh Zary,
Patriks Marcinkevics and
Noah Kane scored.
LIU built a 2-0 lead after one period and never trailed.
The Sharks had a scary moment with 9:05 remaining in the first period when
Valtteri Piironen needed medical assistance after an on-ice collision. Fortunately, he was reported to be in stable condition.
The Sharks conclude their 2022-23 home schedule on Tuesday at 3 p.m. with a third meeting against Alaska Anchorage. LIU then heads to Arizona State to conclude its season.
