BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The LIU women's basketball team shined against Wagner — and Cristina Bermejo was a big reason why.
The graduate student scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Sharks to a 78-68 win against the Seahawks.
Ashley Austin also stepped up for LIU. The junior guard had another dominate game and scored 19 points.
Emaia O'Brien helped out with 12 points, while freshman guard Mariah Elohim dropped nine points. LIU picked up its second win in NEC play and are back in action Feb.16 against Stonehill.
LIU has four regular season games left before the NEC Tournament.
