The men's basketball team battled all afternoon long with tournament team Rutgers, going blow for blow with the Scarlet Knights. A Kopa three would get the Sharks within seven and put Rutgers back on its heels. Unfortunately for LIU, it also woke up their opponent as they went on a scoring run in the final few minutes to beat the Sharks 83-61.
Eric Acker narrowly missed his first career triple-double as he tallied nine points, eight assists and 10 rebounds.
C.J. Delancy had his best game of the season, scoring 12 points in a 6-7 shooting day.
Andre Washington added nine points.
The Sharks return to the court next week on Saturday when they travel to face old NEC foe Mount St. Mary's
