LOWELL, MASS.— The men's basketball traveled to America East favorite UMass Lowell on Tuesday night.
The Sharks were in it early, making the River Hawks earn every bucket and led mid way through the first half. Unfortunately for LIU, a scoring drought late in the half would give UMass Lowell the lead and it never lost it again and the Sharks fell 78-63.
Freshman
Nikola Djapa had his best game of the season as he recorded his first career collegiate double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Tana Kopa led LIU with a season-high 17 points, shooting 43% from the floor
Tai Strickland added 10 with five rebounds and three assist while
Eric Acker led the team with five assists.
The Sharks return to the court on Saturday when they take on Rutgers at 1 p.m.
