BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The LIU men's water polo team returned home to Brooklyn after a weekend west coast trip and did not miss a beat, defeating Connecticut College 13-7.
The Sharks went up 8-0 in the second period after a goal from freshman
Anthony Gauna and the match was all but sealed up.
The Camels fought back late, but the deficit was far too much to overcome and LIU cruised to a win.
Riyad Shehadeh led the Sharks with six goals, bringing his season total to 61. Gauna was second with a season-high three scores while
Tony Franco put two in the back of the net. Both
Logan Morgan and
Charlie Downey had a goal.
The Sharks return to the pool on Saturday when they take on Harvard and MIT in a Boston double-header.
