WHITTIER, CALIF. — The LIU Men's Polo Water team kicked off their west coast road trip with a big win over Whittier 13-9 on Monday night.
The Sharks started off hot in the match, grabbing an early 4-0 lead and never looked back. If Whittier tried to mount a comeback, LIU would immediately shut it down with multiple goals of their own in a row.
Sam Odenkirk led the Sharks with a season-high three goals.
Riyad Shehadeh scored two goals including the game winner. His season total is now at 47.
Josep Jodra Muñoz,
Karl Lovett and
Ben LeClair also added two goals while
Tony Franco and
Logan Morgan each scored one.
Ethan Zirh continued his solid play in net, recording 15 saves on 24 shots. His season total now stands at 200 on the dot.
The Sharks continue their road trip when they travel to La Verne Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
