BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The LIU men's water polo team wrapped up its weekend homestand on Sunday.
The Sharks continue to play tough opponents as they took on another nationally ranked team in Harvard. The Crimson jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, but LIU kept fighting back and held the deficit to three going into the third quarter. From there unfortunately, Harvard would take control of the match as the Sharks fell 16-6.
Riyad Shehadeh scored two goals, bringing his team high total to 34 on the season.
Karl Lovett had a nice match and scored two goals as well while
Josep Jodra Muñoz and
Ben LeClair each recorded one.
Ethan Zirh made nine saves in goal, which now gives him 151 on the year.
The Sharks return to the pool on Wednesday when they travel to New Rochelle to take on Iona at 7:30 p.m.
