Fairfield, Conn. — The LIU women's basketball team hit the road for its first conference road game of the season against Sacred Heart on Friday night.

The Sharks, who are playing its 10th road game of the season, fell to the Pioneers 63-53 in another tightly contested road game.

Graduate students Shyan Mwai and Cristina Bermejo led the way Sharks inside the William H Pitt Center.

Mwai scored 13 points, while Bermejo contributed with 10 points of her own and also picked up four assists.

Dia Dénes played a strong defensive game. The freshman forward racked up six rebounds, while Sydni Smith grabbed five.
