EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — The LIU men's hockey team turned up the offense on Saturday night.
Six different Sharks scored as LIU swept a two-game series against Lindenwood with a 6-4 win at Northwell Health Ice Center.
Adam Goodsir,
Riley Wallack,
Austin Brimmer,
Josh Zary,
Jack Quinn and
Dylan Schuett all scored for LIU.
Schuett produced his first goal of the season, punctuating a wide-open second period with a goal with one second remaining until intermission. The goal staked the Sharks to a three-goal lead.
Goodsir and Zary also had scored against the Lions on Friday afternoon, in a 3-2 victory capped by
Patriks Marcinkevics' overtime goal.
On Saturday, Goodsir and Wallack staked LIU to a 2-0 first-period lead and LIU never trailed.
Vinnie Purpura earned Saturday's win in goal, following Friday's OT win by
Brandon Perrone.
"There were a lot of highs and a lot of lows. I liked the way the team stayed with it, committed to the game plan," coach
Brett Riley said. "A lot of different guys contributed this weekend, and two goalies got wins. Everybody played a key piece in it."
The Sharks return to action next Saturday at Princeton at 7 p.m.
