BROOKLYN, N.Y. — LIU women's basketball continued its conference play on Thursday when it welcomed Central Connecticut State to Brooklyn.
The Sharks fell, 60-43, and moved to 2-16 overall.
After trailing by as many as 22 in the second half, the Sharks cut the deficit in half on a 6-0 run in the fourth quarter. That was as small as the deficit would grow.
LIU kept things score close through the first media timeout, but the offense went stale and did not register a basket after
Ashley Austin drilled a three at the 8:36 mark.
Shyan Mwai led the offense with 11 points.
Tiana Amos chipped in seven off the bench on 3-5 shooting.
As a team, the Sharks shot 37% from the field and 25% (4-16) from deep.
LIU returns to action at Stonehill on Saturday at 2 p.m.
