Field Hockey Opens NEC Play with Resounding Win Over Stonehill

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU field hockey team is back in the win column after its 4-1 win against Stonehill on Friday afternoon.
 
Their record improves to 4-6 and 1-0 in Northeast Conference play.

Michaela Skiski scored the first goal of the game to give the Sharks an early 1-0 lead in the first period.

Emilce Paez and Jules Kuzmich both found the back of the net to give LIU a 3-0 halftime lead.

Senior goaltender Maggie Streichert started the game and stopped the only shot she faced.

LIU freshman goaltender Talia Seale made her Sharks debut to start the second half and played 30 minutes in goal.

Up next, the Sharks travel to play Penn on Sunday at 3 p.m.
