CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The LIU men's tennis team had weekend success at the MIT Invitational.
Facing Army West Point, MIT and Boston College in a hidden dual invitational format, sophomore
Philip Hilble and junior
Arthur Voiseux won all three of their singles matches.
Hilble, in fact, did not drop a set all weekend while manning Nos. 1 and 2 singles.
Voiseux overcame three match points in a super tiebreaker against Boston College.
The Sharks now return home to host Quinnipiac on Sunday, Oct. 2, at noon.
"I'm really happy with how the guys came out, battled and supported each other against some very solid competition," associate head coach Pavlos Sephanides said. "We won most of our singles matches against a very tough and consistent MIT team. Playing Army and Boston College, two well-established programs, we had mostly close matches and got some big wins.
"The highlight of the weekend was Philip and Arthur winning all three of their singles matches, with Phil not dropping. We're looking forward to our first dual match at home."
