WASHINGTON, D.C. — The LIU field hockey team toured the nation's capital on Saturday before taking on Georgetown on Sunday.
In a game that went down to the wire,
Emilce Paez scored the game-winner with 15 seconds remaining to win, 2-1.
Paez, a junior from San Juan, Argentina, notched her first goal six minutes into the first period to take the game's first lead.
The Hoyas were able to tie the contest at the beginning of the third.
After two corners from
Meilin Liotard, Paez converted a chance to secure the victory, moving LIU to 3-5.
Up next, the Sharks face Lehigh next Sunday at noon in Bethlehem, Pa.
