GENEVA, N.Y. – A season high in goals was not enough for LIU men's lacrosse on the road at Hobart College.
The Sharks fell, 22-19, to the Statesmen on Saturday after trimming a seven-goal lead in the fourth down to two, but that was as close as they would come, falling to 6-7 overall and 3-3 in Northeast Conference play.
Despite the loss, junior attack
Sean Boll poured in a career-high eight goals on the afternoon to break his previous high mark of five against Siena in February 2020.
Additionally, it was a busy day for
Blake Behlen, scoring four goals and assisting on four, as well.
Richie LaCalandra set a new career-high in assists with six and fired in three goals. To wrap up new career highs,
Thomas von Bargen finished with two goals and four assists, both top marks in his two-year career.
Owen Stefanko and
Marcin Maleski scored the other two goals with one each. Seven different Sharks forced turnovers, including two from
Nicholas Davide.
As a team, the Sharks had 19 goals, 16 assists, and 43 shots which are highest marks in a game this season.
LIU will wrap up the regular season next weekend at Sacred Heart next Saturday, April 30, at 4:00 p.m.
