Box Score LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, N.J. – The LIU men's tennis team blanked Rider University 7-0 on Friday afternoon. The Sharks improve to 12-6 overall.

"I'm very happy with the guys focus today, especially given the less than ideal weather conditions," said associate head coach, Pavlos Staphanides. "Our doubles are really clicking and the guys are now able to take care of business in that crucial first point. Despite the rain delay halfway through the singles matches they were able to stay with it and come through with the sweep while dropping only one set. Big shout out to our senior walk on, Vikas [Dalal], for clinching the match and our captain Ben [Brandherm] for pulling off a solid win after going down 1-4 in the first set. We are looking forward to what should be a tight match tomorrow at SJU."
 
SHARK BITES:

• The Sharks broke out the brooms on the doubles point, sweeping all three matches to take the 1-0 match lead.
• Shifting to singles, on court three Alessandro D'Anna took down Vishal Ganeshan 6-0, 6-2 to put the Sharks up 2-0. 
• Courts two and six continued saw success for the Sharks with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Peter Komosinski for Sergio Fernandez Romera and 6-1, 6-3 victory for Vikas Dalal against Nick Salazar.
• In a three-set thriller on court five, Guilherme De Medeiros emerged victorious over Marcus Fredrickson 6-4, 4-6, 10-2.
• Courts one and four iced the 7-0 victory for the Sharks with a 7-6, 6-1 for Ben Brandherm on court one over Pablo Carrerea and a 6-3, 7-6 victory over Jaime De Jariaz for Philip Hilble on court four.
• The Sharks are back in action on Saturday, April 2 at 12 p.m. when they take the court against St. Joesph's University on the road.
