Box Score ORLANDO, FL – The LIU men's tennis took on Northwood University Thursday afternoon in Orlando and emerged victorious, 5-0. The Sharks improve to 6-4 on the season and pick up their third win in four contests.
Shark Bites:
- The Sharks got hot fast, winning all three matches on the doubles courts to claim the doubles point.
- Akhilendran Indrabalan was the first member of LIU victorious on the singles courts, taking down Max Wild 6-0, 6-2 on court four
- Moving to court three, Sergio Fernandez helped push the Sharks ahead 3-0 with his 6-3, 6-2 victory over Maharsh Patel
- After a nailbiting 7-5 victory in set one for Alessandro D'Anna, he took down Mathis Violet 6-3 in the second set on court five to give the Sharks their third straight victory on the singles courts.
- LIU clinched the match with a thrilling three set victory on court six with Guilherme De Medeiros emerging victorious over Tony Henrio 6-3, 2-6, 6-0 to give LIU their fifth and final point to secure the victory.
- Ben Brandherm was amid his third set against Leon Grundstrom of Northwood with the score at 4-6, 6-4, 6-5 before the match was called final.
- Danila Ishchanka was also rallying in his third set when the match was called with the score at 6-4, 4-6, 6-9 against David Sedlar.
- The Sharks are back in action on Saturday, March 12th against IUPUI in their final game in Orlando.
