UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The LIU women's hockey team went toe-to-toe with the nation's 12th-ranked team for a second straight day on Saturday.
However, the Sharks ultimately fell to Penn State, 4-1, and were swept in the two-game nonconference series.
Abby Latorella had chiseled LIU's deficit to one goal with six minutes, 37 seconds remaining in regulation. But the Nittany Lions answered with a pair of goals in the game's final 3:35 to secure the victory.
Sharks goaltender
Tindra Holm made 45 saves.
LIU now returns to NEWHA play with games against Saint Anselm next Friday and Saturday at Northwell Health Ice Center.
