BUFFALO, N.Y. — The LIU women's basketball team traveled to Buffalo for its eight road game of the 2022-23 season.Â
The Sharks, who have embraced their road-heavy schedule, took on the Bulls in a Saturday afternoon matchup in Western New York.
LIU battled hard against the Bulls, before eventually falling 91-59. The Sharks scored 31 fourth quarter points, their highest scoring quarter of the game.
"Our players fought hard and I'm proud of the way we are playing until the buzzer, said head coach Rene Haynes after the game."
Senior forward Cristina Bermejo scored a team-high 14 points for the Sharks, while grabbing a couple rebounds and a pair of steals.
Shyan Mwai played another great game for LIU. The graduate student scored 12 points, including a deep three from behind the arch.
Sophomore TaShun Bryson scored a season-high 9 points for the Sharks. Bryson also snagged five rebounds for LIU.
The Sharks return to the Steinberg Wellness Center for a Tuesday night match up against Columbia, before hitting the road again to play Queens College.
