EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — The LIU men's hockey team, which had been accustomed to tight games against nationally ranked opponents, had the chance to flex its muscles on Saturday night.
The Sharks dominated the shots on goal totals and defeated Franklin Pierce, 6-1, at Northwell Health Ice Center.
Anthony Vincent scored twice and
Jordan Di Cicco,
Cade Mason,
Adam Goodsir and
Isaiah Fox also produced goals in the victory.
LIU outshot Franklin Pierce, 75-8.
The shots-on-goal total set a program record. The previous high had been 58 earlier this season against Assumption, on Nov. 19.
In fact, the total was 24-0 before the Ravens got on the scoreboard on their first shot on goal of the game, which came 4 minutes, 28 seconds into the second period.
The teams meet again on Sunday at 7:15 p.m. in East Meadow.
