POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. —  The LIU men's fencing team competed in the Vassar Invitational over the weekend.
 
Overall, the Sharks were 1-7 on the day with the lone victory coming against Lafayette, 14-13.
 
There were nine wins in sabre, two in foil and three in epee to narrowly edge the Leopards.
 
Andrew Gefell, Richard Chen and Eduardo Duarte were able to sweep sabre, 9-0.

LIU returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 19 at Penn Elite.
