SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. — The LIU women's ice hockey team heads home off a sweep of Saint Michael's and winners of five straight games.
Ceilidh Campbell's goal 2 minutes, 32 seconds into the first period stood up as the Sharks swept consecutive games against the Purple Knights with a 1-0 victory on Saturday at Cairns Arena.
Tindra Holm recorded her third shutout of the season with an 18-save performance.
The goal from Campbell, a senior from Barrie, Ont., and a member of the Sharks since the team's inception, was her first of the season.
"I thought we buckled down to push through the game, stuck to the basics and kept things simple out there in order to secure the sweep this weekend," Campbell said.
The Sharks (7-6, 6-1 NEWHA) return to action Friday when they host Stonehill in the first of back-to-back games at Northwell Health Ice Center.
