BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU field hockey honored its seniors on Sunday. The Sharks then suffered their first blemish in NEC play in narrow fashion.
Saarah Olton, one of the pregame honorees, scored a pair of goals — including the equalizer with less than seven minutes remaining in regulation — but the Sharks fell to Saint Francis U, 3-2, at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.
Olton similarly had scored both goals in a 2-1 win at Sacred Heart on Friday.

Felicia King.
Maddie Leitner,
Emma Braeckmans and Mishkah Van Rooyen also were recognized as returnees this season after being honored a year ago.
Saint Francis U's Olivia Muffit scored the game winner with 3:17 remaining.
The Sharks dropped to 2-1 in NEC play. They are back in action on Friday at 1 p.m. at Merrimack.
