NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. — The LIU field hockey team produced its largest scoring output of the season to continue to impress in NEC play.
The Sharks defeated host Merrimack, 6-3, on Friday afternoon.
Kaitlyn Olton had a pair of goals — her first two scores of the season — and
Mailen Albertinazzi,
Saarah Olton,
Meilin Liotard and
Maddie Leitner also scored in the victory.
Albertinazzi, a freshman from Argentina, and Leitner produced their first collegiate goals.
Saarah Olton extended her goal-scoring streak to three straight matches.
Sister
Kaitlyn Olton's last multi-goal match came against Merrimack last season, in a 9-1 victory on Long Island.
LIU (6-8 overall) improved to 3-1 in NEC play.
The Sharks continue their Massachusetts trip on Sunday with a nonconference match at Holy Cross.
