Women's Hockey Produces Season-High Scoring Output, Tops Post

SHELTON, Conn. — Ashley Morrow scored in the first period and the LIU women's ice hockey team led the rest of the way in the first of back-to-back games against Post.

The Sharks rattled off the game's opening four goals and defeated the host Eagles, 5-1, on Friday afternoon at the Sports Center of Connecticut.

Jeannie Wallner added two goals and Paula Bergström and Mikayla Lantto also scored for the Sharks.

The scoring output marked the Sharks' highest this season.

Tindra Holm, the reigning NEWHA Goaltender of the Week, made 13 saves.

LIU improved to 4-6 overall and 3-1 in NEWHA. 

The teams return to the ice on Saturday, this time at Northwell Health Ice Center at 2 p.m.
